INTRODUCTION

A lightweight day cream formulated to nourish sensitive skin, soothe irritations and blemishes, whilst increasing hydration in the skin. What we put on our skin is ultimately absorbed into our body, which is why the Mānuka Honey Day Cream contains only the most natural and restorative ingredients. Mānuka honey has a high moisture content, which can naturally draw moisture to the skin and will leave your skin feeling hydrated for longer. This day cream also contains kawakawa-infused sweet almond oil, providing strong anti-inflammatory properties, ideal for reducing redness and blemishes.

Handmade in small batches on Aotea. Product may vary slightly from batch to batch.

Apply a generous amount to your face and neck in the morning after cleansing with Kūmarahou & Mānuka Honey Cleanser.

DID YOU KNOW?

Aotea was founded in 2017. Inspired by mātauranga māori (māori knowledge), this knowledge manifests itself in their range of therapeutic skincare. Their namesake, Aotea, is the māori name for Great Barrier Island where they are from. It is there that they grow all the native flora that is used in Aotea’s range, extract the active compounds and use these healing extracts for the key tenants in their products.

Aotea has a commitment to their values and culture which are the pillars for their business. In light of which, they have elected — despite the difficulty — to manufacture the entire range of products on their papakāinga (land). This allows them to create jobs in their community. Further, they are proud to be providing scholarships to their rangatahi māori on Aotea to attend high schooling in Auckland, as there is no high school on Aotea.

This thinking pervades their direction and what they are as a business. Two things they are investing into significantly is the research and development attached to their products and flora, as well as sustaining a completely circular economy where waste is designed out. Building onto their existing solar farm, the operation of their facilities are completely carbon neutral, and their range of products has a minimal carbon footprint.
