AT A GLANCE

  • A restorative and hydrating cream, formulated to be used at night
  • Suitable for dry & normal skin types
  • A rich and creamy consistency that soaks into the skin while you sleep

INTRODUCTION

The key tenant in this restorative night cream is the harakeke seed (flaxseed) oil. Harakeke seeds are rich in omegas 3 and 6, which are very nourishing for the skin. Omega 3 in particular plays a crucial role in cell rejuvenation and restoration. All ingredients in the Harakeke Night Cream are 100% natural, which actually makes it safe even for consumption. Apply this cream every night and wake up to improved skin that looks and feels hydrated.

Handmade in small batches on Aotea. Product may vary slightly from batch to batch.

USAGE

After cleansing with Kūmarahou & Mānuka Honey Cleanser and toning, deeply massage a small amount into the face and neck before bed.

INGREDIENTS

Harakeke Seed Oil, Kawakawa-infused Sweet Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, NZ Beeswax, Rose Water, Geranium, Naturagard Pure

DID YOU KNOW?

Aotea was founded in 2017. Inspired by mātauranga māori (māori knowledge), this knowledge manifests itself in their range of therapeutic skincare. Their namesake, Aotea, is the māori name for Great Barrier Island where they are from. It is there that they grow all the native flora that is used in Aotea’s range, extract the active compounds and use these healing extracts for the key tenants in their products.

Aotea has a commitment to their values and culture which are the pillars for their business. In light of which, they have elected — despite the difficulty — to manufacture the entire range of products on their papakāinga (land). This allows them to create jobs in their community. Further, they are proud to be providing scholarships to their rangatahi māori on Aotea to attend high schooling in Auckland, as there is no high school on Aotea.

This thinking pervades their direction and what they are as a business. Two things they are investing into significantly is the research and development attached to their products and flora, as well as sustaining a completely circular economy where waste is designed out. Building onto their existing solar farm, the operation of their facilities are completely carbon neutral, and their range of products has a minimal carbon footprint.
